As we move forward…

This has been a good week for Asha’s DC chapter and our funding efforts.

We kickstarted our Team Asha DC program and our participation in Marathon Charity Cooperation’s summer training program. We also approved Rs. 6.5 Lakhs (Lacs) to the Jagriti Bal Vikas Samiti’s (JBVS) Lodhar School Project. The K-8 school, run by JBVS and supported by Asha DC and other charitable groups, is located in Lodhar Village near Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India. Established in 1996, Swami Vivekanand Vidyalaya (as the school is formally known) has successfully educated hundreds of children from Lodhar and other neighboring villages. Currently, 291 students are enrolled in the school, and are receiving quality education and opportunities to grow in confidence and self-reliance.

Team Asha DC is looking for more runners and other volunteers to join the program, so that we can raise more funds and continue to support projects such as JBVS-Lodhar School. Are you interested in running and volunteering with Asha DC, and helping us meet our funding goals? Please check out our Team Asha DC webpage to learn more about the program and to support it.

As always, we appreciate your support! You are helping us bring Asha (hope) to an entire generation of first-time school-goers in India through education.

Thank you!
Rashi Jain

Asha-DC Coordinator
