ASHA FOR EDUCATION
Asha for Education is a fully volunteer-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with 66 chapters around the world whose mission is to catalyze socio-economic change in India through the education of underprivileged children. To learn more about Asha as a whole please click here.
Asha’s DC Metro Chapter comprises of a bunch of enthusiastic and dedicated individuals in the DC Metro area striving to make a difference to the society. We believe that education is one of the primary factors in shaping a child’s future and by extension, future of the entire country.
The DC Metro Chapter works towards promoting the education of underprivileged children in India by providing financial assistance and support to the NGOs focused on educational projects in India. Volunteers of Asha work closely with the project partners in India, while locally organizing fundraisers and community awareness events.

Asha has launched its annual WORK-AN-HOUR (WAH) campaign!
As part of this campaign, we are asking you to symbolically work an hour for Asha by donating an hour (or more) of your salary to Asha for Education for the cause of children’s education.
